The CAU
100
Anniversary

Prologue

Happy New Year!
The new year 2018, otherwise known as the Year of the Dog on Chinese calendar, has just started. I wish all the CAU members the best of luck and success.

This year marks the 100th anniversary of CAU’s foundation. CAU has taken the lead among Korean universities with a new way of thinking and carried on the right spirit of CAU. CAU solidifies its position as a prestigious higher institution by responding to a changing environment of our time sometimes in a flexible manner, and sometimes with an innovative mindset. This was possible due to CAU alumni’s devotion to the alma mater, CAU students’ strong will, CAU faculty members’ commitment, and CAU administrative staff members’ enthusiasm.

All of us have joined our forces together in the name of Chung-Ang over the last 100 years. A lifelong relationship–In-yeon(因緣) in Korean–is not about a one-time encounter, but about long-lasting bonds resulting from a certain cause.

Dear CAU members who have shared a long history based on the lifelong relationship, Just as many people once laid the cornerstone of Young-shin Hall with the love toward CAU and aspiration to build a better world, I hope that this year, which marks CAU’s centennial anniversary, serves as the groundwork for preparing the next 1,000 years.

Last of all, it is sincerely hoped that CAU members smoothly fulfill their aspirations.
I would like to extend my heartiest gratitude to all the members of CAU.

Sincerely yours,
100th Anniversary Planning Team
